Production efficiency Electronic Eye installed cameras in a bakery to monitor the conveyors. Video was fed into the foreman's office so he could catch jams in the automated equipment and slow-downs in production. State of the art quality control! Electronic Eye designed a system which allows an operator to see what he is doing to the material he is working on from a different angle. Even though he is only a few feet from the material, the view from a different angle has enabled him to increase production by several percent. Two men were required to unload a barge, one operating the equipment and one on the barge with a radio. This was a very unsafe, inefficient practice. After Electronic Eye designed and installed their system, the person on the barge was not required. This improved safety, efficiency and profits.
When the human eye isn't enough. Theft at the distribution center is common A large manufacturer of expensive automobile parts suspected a plant foreman of taking thousands of dollars of equipment and inventory. Electronic Eye was called to conduct a site survey and develop a comprehensive security program. Covert cameras were installed and a 24-hour VCR and monitor was placed in the office of the VP of Human Resources. The next day one of the security guards was taped driving a "tow motor" and moving several pallets of materials onto a truck. The security guard was also seen on tape making a telephone call to an accomplice to bring the truck to the loading dock. The company called the police and the security guard was taken away in handcuffs. He was later prosecuted and put in jail. Electronic Eye can observe even the most sophisticated distribution centers and systems: receiving docks, shipping docks, employee entrances, time clocks and vending areas |
