Inventory control by weight management

Electronic Eye designed and installed an audio/video/data system at a limestone quarry. Trucks pull into the quarry to pick up material. As they drive onto a scale, the camera sends the video to the control/office building, two miles away, over a fiber optic cable. The control room operator can see the truck and talk to the driver over a two-way audio link (which operates over the same fiber optic cable). After the truck has been filled, it pulls back onto the scale. A computer then calculates the truck's load, determining how much limestone the truck has picked up. The bill-of-lading is printed right at the scale and the truck driver is on his way. This system by Electronic Eye eliminates the need for an operator at the scale- it saves both the driver and the quarry time and money. This type of system can be used with any inventory that is controlled by weight: grains, fruits, vegetables, gravel or blacktop.

Shipping and dispatch

The owner of a trucking company wants to see his truck terminal on the east coast (the owner is located in the Midwest). He's concerned about dispatch mistakes and late shipments. Electronic Eye designed a video system to allow the owner to see the east coast terminal. The system observes eight different areas including the dock and main gate, providing audio communications with the main gate and can unlock the gate remotely (from half-way across the country if desired). He can see who is at the gate and unlock the gate allowing the driver to pick up or deliver a load after normal hours. The owner is now able to determine that a load has left on time, or that a driver has hooked up to the right trailer. This system is saving the trucking company a lot of money every month.
